Handcrafted lounge chair, custom made on our very own shores, meet our Elizabeth armchair, a vision in sumptuous purple velvet. Our gloriously regal Elizabeth purple velvet armchair has been upholstered in a colour associated with royalty, power and wealth for centuries. Hand crafted in the UK, this high quality bespoke armchair features an attractive Victorian style buttoned back, antique coloured studding and elegantly turned legs available with or without castors.

Some historical facts about the colour purple: Queen Elizabeth I forbade anyone except close members of the royal family to wear it. Purple’s elite status stems from the rarity and cost of the dye originally used to produce it. Purple fabric used to be so outrageously expensive that only rulers could afford it.

Pictured here in a small size with longer black painted legs and no castors, since all of our handcrafted chairs are made to order, if you prefer a different coloured velvet, legs, studding or castors, or if you would like contrasting coloured buttons or piping simply call or email us to discuss your preferred specifications.*

*Please note if you want longer legs on a small or medium chair, please note that we charge an additional £50. The large sized frame comes with longer legs already inbuilt. Prices for customisations vary, depending on what your specifications are.  If you wish to have piping on the back and just above the front legs we  charge an additional £60 (see Hepburn, Kilgour, Beau & Marlene lounge chairs).
